New Literature on Search Engine Optimization

The first thing you need to learn about Search Engine Optimization is that it's necessary in this day and age for any kind of business. Writers need to use SEO to build a fan base in their genre, business need SEO in order to be able to promote their services online, and modern entrepreneurs have taken SEO and turned it into an art – nearly incomprehensible for us average Janes and Joes.

But, there are two things you can do to improve upon all this. You can hire a service, like SEO Perth, for example, or you could learn as much as you can about SEO. If you take the second path, you will learn the second thing about SEO: the search engine algorithms constantly change. As in, if an SEO strategy back in 2016 (that's only one year ago!) worked and produced results, it does not mean that it will work today, tomorrow, or a month from now.

The good news is that there are people who are on top of all that, and they have written books (and they also update those books with new information). So, if you wish to take on SEO in 2017, these are the books you want to read.

Seo: Seo Bible & Tips – Google, Bing, Yahoo! (Volume 3) by Thomas Clayton

seo bible

This book is a two-in-one book made of two books: SEO: The Seven Tips to Succeed in Google and SEO: How to Get On the First Page of Google.

Why you need it: because it discusses how to use Google algorithms to get to the top of search results on Google. If you're just building your website for your business, you need these tips to achieve success. But, if your website is already up and running without generating enough traffic, you need to read this book even more. While it might be difficult to fix SEO mistakes you might have made in the past, with this book and a lot of work, you could address a lot of them. Moreover, the book includes the latest changes in algorithms, which you need to know in order to understand where you might go wrong when optimizing the content of your website.

Local SEO (Marketing Guides for Small Business) by Ray L. Perry & Phil Singleton

As the title suggest, this book will teach you both SEO strategies and give you marketing tips to attract local traffic to your website.

Why you need it: because it will give you an insight into social media marketing along with SEO and explain how you can enhance one with the other. You will be able to learn how to use SEO for local ranking and local traffic, and how you can use social media in order to get more traffic on your website. Also, you will learn how attracting local traffic to your website can help you with your overall ranking on Google search results.

Search engine optimization 2017: Learn SEO with smart internet marketing strategies by Adam Clarke

seo 2017

In this book, you will find the latest SEO techniques and learn the secrets of how to get a high rank on Google and have a lot of traffic on your website.

Why you need it: because it also contains advice on how to generate innovative SEO techniques for your site. Moreover, the book contains information on how to use link building the right way – and how to avoid being red-flagged by Google and avoid penalties. It points out the most common mistakes website owners make when using backlinks, which can have grave consequences for your website. Also, you will learn about schema.org, as well as social media hacking and the correct use of keywords. In this book, you will find SEO secrets are not easily available to everyone.

Search Engine Optimization All-in-One for Dummies 3rd Edition by Bruce Clay

As the title says, this is not a two-in-one, but a 9-in-1 book that will introduce you to SEO in general and help you use SEO for your own purposes.

Why you need it: because it's written by Bruce Clay, who is widely considered an expert on SEO. Bruce Clay has been in the SEO business for a very long time, and he is an expert in online marketing. The first edition of this book was published a while ago, so make sure to look for the third edition, which has the latest information. This is a big book that will give you a lot of information on SEO, including a detailed description of how search engines work, the application of keywords and other tricks to generate traffic for your website. This book is suitable for everyone, but it has special benefits for beginners, no matter if they are website owners, consultants, or work in marketing.

SEO Like I’m 5: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Search Engine Optimization Paperback by Matthew Capala, Steve Baldwin, Kevin Lee

This book was written by Matthew Capala, while Steve Baldwin was the editor, and Kevin Lee wrote the foreword. The title might imply that it covers the basics of SEO, but this is not the case.

Why you need it: because this book goes beyond SEO for generating website traffic. The author, Capala, understands that beyond good SEO and beyond having your website easily discoverable in search engine results lies the need for good content. Good traffic is generated with both SEO and good content. The author teaches you how to create your website, make it friendly for the search engines, but you will also get to learn how to create a fair chunk of followers on social media, how to use your website for monetizing purposes, and how to write really good content. Moreover, this books teaches you how to use backlinks and how to attract backlinks leading to your site, and how to build relationships with other website owners on social media and beyond. The dual approach to SEO and generating traffic that the author takes, is bound to help you come up with the right strategy for your website.
